James R. Nowlin, III, attended college at the University of Virginia where he majored in Latin-American Studies and completed the pre-medical curriculum. While at UVA, he received Intermediate Honors and was a Ridley Scholar. After graduating from college he spent a short stint in medical school before deciding to attend law school at the Duke University School of Law. While at Duke, James was Editor-in-Chief of the Duke Journal of Gender Law & Policy and a member of the Moot Court Board.

After completing law school, James practiced real estate and finance law at a major law firm in Dallas, Texas. Eventually, he realized his combined passion for the legal profession and career counseling and placement, leading him to serve as Managing Director in the Dallas office of an international attorney recruiting firm.

James has successfully worked on searches for attorneys and law firms around the world. He and his team at Excel Global are committed to working with legal professionals and law firms to meet and exceed their expectations.

In addition to his love for his career, James has enjoyed travel ventures to more than twenty countries and competes in triathlons in his free time. He also enjoys listening to jazz, giving back to his community, and spending time with his friends and family.
